Deathfist Ninja GKaiser Creator Bio

Jim Freedan

Owner of Techno Comics and creator of Deathfist Ninja GKaiser, Jim Freedan was born an Oregonian in 1982. As a young child, he was fascinated with the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, which encouraged him to write his own fantasy stories. As he grew up, he became a fan of television shows such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Simpsons, Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saved by the Bell, ALF, Saturday Night Live, In Living Color and MAD TV; just to name a few.

Mr. Freedan was introduced to japanese style animation by Voltron, Transformers and The Last Unicorn when he was a young boy. Later during the 90s, he would wake up early in the morning on Saturdays just to watch anime movies such as Vampire Hunter D, Galaxy Express 999, Demon City Shinjuku, Akira and Robot Carnival on the Sci-Fi Channel, which then was the only place you could watch anime movies on American cable television.

When he began creating the world of Deathfist Ninja GKaiser, he began combining various elements of the things he remembered fondly as a child into the scripts, which he intended to be a satire of American culture and the Japanese anime which he loved as a child.

He founded Techno Comics so he could self- publish Deathfist Ninja GKaiser.

Jen Brooks

The artist for Deathfist Ninja GKaiser is Jen (Jennifer) Brooks. She was born in 1984 in Provo, Utah and she grew up in a world of magical princesses and happy Disney movies. She spent much of her television time watching cartoons, as that was what interested her the most, though little did she know back then that her love for cartoons would be one of her biggest blessings.

In 1995 she stumbled upon the world premiere of the US version of the anime Sailor Moon and she's been hooked on anime ever since. Inspired by what she saw, she decided to start drawing in the Japanese anime/manga style. She had doodled prior to this, but she does not feel it was anything to be too proud of. Over the years she likes to think she's improved and done better every year since then.

In 1999 she created Studio Eternity with her best friend Alicia McHenry and they started their comic Blessed: The Saviors of our Future. Later, Jen's little sister Kelly and friend John would join the team. It was in October 2004 when Studio Eternity was first contacted about doing Deathfist Ninja GKaiser, but in the end it seemed the Jen needed to take out and do this one solo.

She recently got married in July 2004 to her husband Mike whom she had been dating for 6 years prior to the marriage. After growing up in "The Valley" in California she's settled down in Fort Meade, Maryland. She's very excited about how Deathfist Ninja GKaiser will turn out, as this is some of her first work alone and in more of a “shonen” style of artwork.

"Directed at Brad in my 5th grade class... You said I couldn't draw back then, look at me now."
