Techno Comics FAQ:
Here you will find some answers to common questions many people may have about Techno Comics and our products:
Q: What is "Techno Comics" ?
A: Techno Comics is a small and independant entertainment company formed by Jim Freedan in 2005. Mr. Freedan founded the company so he could self-publish his original stories without having to go through the process of being "approved" by the larger, more traditional entertainment companies which publish comic books. The first story Mr. Freedan decided to release was "Deathfist Ninja GKaiser", which is a comedy / adventure story. Because GKaiser (which is prounounced G-K-zer) is a parody of many, many things and holds some indirect commentary about observations made about pop culture, Mr. Freedan felt if he tried to go through one of the traditional publishers, they would make attempts to censor aspects of his story to make it more "politically correct" in an effort to make it appeal to the mainstream.
That is not the reason why GKaiser was written. GKaiser was originally written to parody many of the themes which are found in "politically correct" comic books, cartoons and other forms of media. Although GKaiser was NOT written to offend people, it is a parody and as such, some people may find it's content unsettling.
Q: Why is GKaiser being released as both a free web-comic while also being sold as a traditional paperbound comic book?
A: This was a difficult decision to make. Originally, GKaiser was going to be released as a graphic novel containing four chapters. Each chapter was an actual "issue" of the comic.
The plan changed once the realities of self-publishing a graphic novel made it clear this would be too much for a new, small company like Techno Comics to achieve. The costs of using traditional advertising venues alone would soon bankrupt the funds for Techno Comics.
After a great deal of research into the market and into past independant comic book publishers, it was decided that the best way to get word out about the new company was to take full advantage of the internet. Releasing pages of GKaiser as a webcomic every week allows readers to "view" the pages before they bought it just like they would in a traditional bookstore. If people like what they see or read, they will be better inclined to buy it.
Also, the comic issues themselves hold extra content. At the back of every issue is a few pages devoted to a "mini-comic" that informs the reader about the massive, detailed, and totally bizzare history of Manga-Land which could not be fit into the respective issues themselves.
The background history which is reviewed in the "mini-comic" at the back of each issue plays a vital role in the developing story of Deathfist Ninja GKaiser.
Besides, it is much more enjoyable to read a comic in your hands than it is to sit in front of a computer screen ^^
Q: Why do you ask for donations on the front page?
A: Although we do not mind entertaining people for free, Techno Comics IS a buisness, ran by people who have bills, families, and rent. The expenses of running a small buisness are large, expecially when you have to pay for webhosting, design and mantaince, domain names, copyrights, trademarking, etc etc. There is a lot of money that has gone into this website alone.
The donation box is mainly for people who do not wish to order printed comic issues or buy any of the merchandise, but do enjoy reading the webcomic version of Deathfist Ninja GKaiser.
It was decided charging a "subscription fee" to view one webcomic would not make much sense.
Therefore, the webcomic is totally free to view and we hope to keep it that way for as long as our company exists.
So, if you enjoy reading the GKaiser webcomic, all that we ask is to please drop a quarter once a month into our little donation hat. The donations help to pay for the website hosting and maintance fees so GKaiser can continue to be released every Monday and Friday as a free webcomic for your enjoyment.
Or, you can buy some merchandise from our little shop. We know it isn't much right now, but we hope to eventually be able to offer a better line of Techno Comics and GKaiser related products in the future.

Q: I am offended by your comic book for blah blah blah reason. I demand you take it down.
A: If you are offended by the comic, then we apoligize. None of Deathfist Ninja GKaiser was written with malicious intent.
What Mr. Freedan has tried to do is create a funny, entertaining story which takes pokes and jabs at pop culture, stereotypes and society in general. Yes, we do make fun of celebrities but it is important to realize that what we are actually making fun of is the concept and idea for which a particular celebrity may represent.
The fictional story is based in a fictional alternate universe named Manga-Land. Manga-Land is not a real world, and exists soley in the mind of the author Jim Freedan. Therefore, all characters are not real people, even if they possess the likeness of real people. All characters, to include their activities and behaviors as portrayed in the comic book, are fictional characters who exist in a fictional world which parallels the real world we live within.
We realize some people may still be offended regardless of the intent of the author. If this is the case, then we encourage you to discontinue reading Deathfist Ninja GKaiser so that it no longer offends you, and we remind you that Deathfist Ninja GKaiser is recommended for readers above the age of thirteen.
